Sepia Moonlight was Dave's bar on Sunset Strip. But after 20 years of serving the famous and up-and-coming, he decided to sell up and hit the road in search of new highs. Always a fan of the paranormal, he decides to document the strange stories of Route 66. Then he chances on a road that changes everything... Route 666.
In the tiny town of Alton is a coffee shop called Brews and Books. It's owned by Dave, a former Californian barbecue pitmaster who decided to move his life to small town America and start serving coffee. When the empty shop across the road suddenly becomes occupied, Dave can't help but take the young owner under his wing. But not all is as it seems...
“Because social media and our mutual friend, Mr Murray, have spent the past handful of months winding me up like some kind of fucking clockwork toy. I'm starving, James. Hell.” I take a swig of coffee to wash away the plane and car dust. “I'm fuckin' ravenous and if that's not a testament to the fuckin' work that you've been putting in then I don't know what is.”
Draining the last of the coffee, I dump the mug on a nearby vanity and step up to him. My hands slide over his chest until my thumbs are resting on the razor-edge of his collarbone. I stare into those eyes and find myself once more losing myself beneath their waves.
“So fuckin' feed me,” I murmur.
If you had told Dave Grohl that he would be drumming with a new band by the new decade he probably would’ve believed you. However if you had said the band would be Nirvana that would instantly set the course of becoming part of a new family, meeting the love of his life, and starting a new band and finding his own place in the rock world he defiantly would’ve called you crazy.
What if Dave met Taylor before the creation of Foo Fighters?
